Hi, I am Kailani, I’m the heart behind Little Bear Birth Stories. A mother of four, a storyteller at heart, and a passionate birth worker.

Photography has been part of my life for over 10 years, but it was through the sacred journey of motherhood that I felt a deeper calling: to walk alongside women during one of the most transformative times of their lives. Birth photography and doula work have become a soul-aligned path, a way to nurture, support, and witness mothers as they bring life earthside.

Though I’m originally from Texas, Tennessee has been home for the past 22 years. Here, nestled in the rhythm of our homeschooling days, my family and I love to travel to the mountains, explore trails, and take spontaneous field trips, finding beauty in the natural and the simple.

As a doula and birth photographer, I bring a grounded, gentle presence to the birth space. I believe every birth is a sacred story worth honoring, in all its raw power, softness, and truth. It’s a privilege to hold space for families during such a monumental time, and to preserve the fleeting moments that speak volumes: the first breath, the tears, the touch, the strength.
